Brass Attack BBZ está compuesto por los trompetistas Willie Bradley, Rob Zinn y Johnny Britt. Brass Attack BBZ ya está listo para presentarse en el Festival Smooth Jazz Festival de San Diego 2020 el 11 de julio. "Tan pronto como supimos del trío, fue obvio", dijeron los promotores. El primer sencillo de Brass Attack BBZ es una nueva versión de Tijuana Taxi, el gran éxito de 1966 del grupo Tijuana Brass de Herb Alpert. Brass Attack BBZ le da un giro único a este clásico atemporal.
Britt cita: “Cuando Willie, Rob y yo decidimos unir fuerzas para este proyecto, inmediatamente pensamos en Herb Alpert y su canción Tijuana Taxi. Herb Albert es uno de los innovadores únicos de la trompeta y fue pionero en traer el sonido de la trompeta a la música pop”. Brass Attack BBZ tiene el honor de producir, organizar e interpretar esta canción clásica como un trío de trompetas. The Brass Attack BBZ arrangement infuses a fresh, contemporary hip hop, R&B and soul feel to their interpretation.
The central idea of Brass Attack BBZ is for three accomplished trumpeters to perform as a unit while still allowing each musician their own space to shine as an individual. Tijuana Taxi features Rob playing flugelhorn, Johnny adding his signature harmon mute and Willie chiming in with his soulful trumpet. The blend of the 3 horns gives the song a totally contemporary hip vibe.
