Brother Reggie
May 1, 2021

Singer and multi-instrumentalist Brother Reggie (Reginald Van Carreker) Washington D.C.-based artist.

Brother Reggie has been performing around the DMV for years, engaging audiences with smooth jazz, soul and contemporary gospel original and cover selections.

Brother Reggie does it all - plays all of the instruments, sings all of the vocals, arranges, produces and records everything in his home studio.

Brother Reggie is the self-proclaimed "UnderCover Boss of beautiful soul songs lost," introducing old school jams to a younger generation of listeners as well as “grown folks” who may have never heard the classic songs many of us have come to know and love! You can count on Brother Reggie to re-create a song and provide the song “essence” with twist to kick it up a bit … he will also “flip the script” on an r&b song by “jazzing” it with a lead guitar or keyboard solo … nestled in a wonderful smooth jazz or Latin jazz arrangement!

Brother Reggie has been an opening act for Steve Oliver, Nick Colionne, Joyce Cooling, and many others. His musical travels have placed Brother Reggie onstage performing with Angela Winbush … sharing the mic on her smoldering single “Angel” … and year after year performances with award winning soulful crooner Jeffrey Osborne on the single “You Should Be Mine (The Woo-Woo Song)! “Love Ballad” happens to be one of Brother Reggie’s favorite songs … so much so that it has been included as a selection on his new 2021 CD release “UnderCover Brother Vol. 2: Just Us”!

Brother Reggie is an avid Earth, Wind & Fire fan! This volume includes Brother Reggie’s smooth jazz treatment of the EWF classic “That’s the Way of the World”. And if you are an EWF fan also … check out “Can’t Hide Love” on Brother Reggie’s preceding CD! You will love both renditions!

With the success of the 2020 CD release “UnderCover Brother Vol. 1: Just Me” … Brother Reggie is “making good” on his promise to deliver a 10-volume masterworks music series… one to be released each year until completed! Brother Reggie is truly the “Brother under the cover songs”…hence…UnderCover Brother!
