"Estos tiempos han desatado una creatividad en mí que no había sentido en años. Creo que ha sido un tiempo de autoevaluación. Una limpieza de la casa, por así decirlo ", confiesa Euge Groove. El saxofonista, compositor y productor que encabezó la lista de éxitos y que ha marcado cerca de una docena de éxitos #1, ha lanzado su duodécima grabación como solista, Sing My Song, el 26 de junio de 2020. "Comencé a trabajar en el álbum hace alrededor de dos años y medio. Definitivamente puse todo lo que tenía en él. Había estado de gira sin parar durante los últimos años y me resultó difícil encontrar el tiempo para produndizar sin distracciones ”, dice Euge. “Con la llegada del Covid-19 todo lo que tengo es tiempo. Desde que entramos en Lockdown en Los Ángeles a mediados de marzo, trabajé sin parar, literalmente, para terminar el proyecto. Trabajando a veces las 24 horas del día. Realmente no fue sino hasta después que terminé la semana pasada, que la gravedad en la situación mundial se hundió. He decidido continuar en ese camino creativo ". La desencadenada ambición e intención de Euge Groove ha resultado en una inspirada excursión de 11 temas que es su mejor trabajo hasta el momento. Rodeado por un cuadro de algunos de los artistas más venerados en la escena del jazz contemporáneo, incluidos Maysa, Peter White, Phillipe Saisse y Paul Brown, entre otros, la camaradería en Sing My Song, trasciende la música. "Amo a estos chicos. Pienso en ellos como amigos más que como músicos, a pesar de que me encanta su trabajo. Todos aportaron mucho al proyecto".

Euge Groove ha cosechado seguidores devotos con su irresistible mezcla de ritmos bailables, ganchos alucinantes, agilidad técnica, melodías infundidas de R&B y solos inspirados. Sing My Song comienza con el sensual y alegre "Hey Boo", que muestra sus saxofones multicapa impecables para un efecto perfecto. Les coge el sombre a los Tower of Power Days en "Dirty Dozen", el primer sencillo del álbum que es un thriller valiente e intrigante que funcionaría bien como el nuevo tema de James Bond. El saxofón tenor de Euge Groove serpentea a través de todos los coros en una persecución 

conmovedora, tocando todas las notas correctas. La canción "Rise" nos transporta al clásico sonido de CTI mientras Euge Groove hace una deslumbrante recreación del éxito de 1979 de Herb Albert. La canción presenta al guitarrista Paul Brown, quien crea una hermosa sinergia con Euge en la canción. "Paul Brown ha sido un mentor cuando se trata de mezclar y organizar las canciones", confiesa Euge Groove. Sing My Song también presenta la hermosa balada teñida de gospel "Until Tomorrow", con él al soprano y el guitarrista Peter White. "Peter es uno de mis mejores amigos. También admiro lo que es como artista. Nunca decepciona! Al devolvernos el favor a todos, Euge Groove no decepciona con "Say I Won’t", ya que sirve a su tenor gruñendo en la canción energizada, juguetona y moduladora.

El título de la canción de Sing My Song y el número espectacular están escritos en colaboración con Euge y su compañera de sello, la cantante y compositora Lindsey Webster. Presenta a la dinámica y siempre consistente Maysa. Webster fue vocalista invitado en el álbum de Euge, Groove On, y esta es la primera vez que ella y Maysa trabajan juntas. "Amo a Lindsey y sus composiones y he sido un gran admirador de Maysa durante años", confiesa el saxofonista. “La letra, la canción y la interpretación realmente golpearon el corazón de mi alma. Creo que el tema es algo con lo que todos pueden relacionarse sin importar cuál sea su "canción". Para mí, se trata de mantenerse fuerte por dentro sin importar lo que otros puedan pensar. Tienes que valorarte desde dentro, no a través de los ojos de los demás ". Hay una versión de mezcla de esta canción en el final del álbum que destaca un exuberante arreglo orquestal de Phillipe Saisse. “Philipe es realmente un artista talentoso en muchos sentidos. Su arreglo orquestal es simplemente hermoso. Le pedí que hiciera un arreglo orquestal completo, no solo cuerdas, sino cuerdas, latón, instrumentos de viento de madera, percusión, todo ", explica Euge. “Recuerdo haber recibido su arreglo un viernes por la noche. Poco después me envió por diversión la versión remix de Sing My Song con solo Maysa, yo y la orquesta. Me quedé asombrado. Lo hizo solo por diversión, pero sabía que tenía que hacer el álbum. Entonces, lo incluí como una variedad de bonificación. Su arreglo es otra razón por la cual la canción se convirtió en la canción principal ". El romanticismo sostenido y la tensión legato del tenor de Euge Groove en "Gatito" es un tributo memorable al saxofonista argentino Gato Barbieri ". Fue muy influyente en mis primeros años”, comparte Euge Groove. "Tocó con tanta pasión". Euge cambia al control de crucero para "The Journey Ahead" y explica: "Esta canción se trata de empujar hacia adelante. Cuando una puerta se abre a la siguiente, a menudo no tenemos idea de a dónde nos llevará. Hay momentos en que abres esas puertas". donde simplemente te sientes como "ahhhhhhhh". Simplemente te sientes tan bien. El puente hacia 'The Journey Ahead' captura ese sentimiento para mí ". Euge Groove muestra su habilidad para pintar melodías que tienen una forma de influir en su mente al asegurar "Of course" y la composición "Good Evening" cierra el álbum y pasa a ser una nueva página con otra grabación ganadora de Euge Groove.

“These times have unleashed a creativity in me that I haven’t felt in years. I think it’s been a time of self-reevaluation. A cleaning of the house so to speak,” confides Euge Groove who has been first call for everyone from Tina Turner, Richard Marx and Joe Cocker to Tower of Power and Huey Lewis.  The chart-topping saxophonist, composer and producer who has scored close to a dozen #1 hits, released his twelfth recording as a leader, Sing My Song, on June 26, 2020. “I started work on the album about two and a half years ago. I definitely put everything I had into it. I had been touring non- stop over the last few years and just found it hard to find the time to dig in without distractions,” says Euge. “Along comes Covid-19 and all I have is time. Ever since we went into Lockdown in LA in mid-March, I worked nonstop, literally, on finishing the project. Working sometimes 24-hour days. It really wasn’t until after I finished last week that the seriousness of the world’s situation sunk in. I’ve decided to continue on that creative path.” Euge Groove’s unleashed ambition and intention has resulted in an inspired 11-track excursion that is his finest work yet. Surrounded by a cadre of some of the most revered artists on the Contemporary Jazz scene, including Maysa, Peter White, Phillipe Saisse and Paul Brown among others, the camaraderie on Sing My Song, transcends the music. “I love these guys. I think of them as friends more than just musicians, even though I love their work. They all brought so much to the table.”

Euge Groove has garnered a devout following with his irresistible mix of danceable grooves, mind-bending hooks, technical agility, R&B infused melodies and inspired solos. Sing My Song opens with

the sensual and joyous “Hey Boo,” which shows off his flawless multi-layered saxophones to perfect effect. He tips his hat to his Tower of Power Days on “Dirty Dozen,” the album’s first single which is a spunky and intriguing thriller that would work well as the newest James Bond theme. Euge Groove’s tenor saxophone snakes through all the choruses on a soulful chase, hitting all the right notes. The song “Rise” transports us back the classic CTI sound as Euge Groove does a dazzling recreation of Herb Albert's 1979 hit. The track, features guitarist Paul Brown, who creates beautiful synergy with Euge on the song. “Paul Brown has been a mentor of sorts when it comes to mixing and arranging the songs,” confides Euge Groove.  Sing My Song also features the gorgeous gospel-tinged ballad "Until Tomorrow,” featuring Euge's pristine soprano and guitarist Peter White. “Peter is one of my besties. I also look up to him as to what he is as an artist. He never disappoints!” Returning the favor to us.

Sing My Song’s title track and show-stopping number is co-penned by Euge and his label-mate, singer songwriter Lindsey Webster and features the dynamic and always consistent songbird Maysa. Webster was a guest vocalist on Euge’s album Groove On and this is the first time he and Maysa have recorded with one another. “I love Lindsey and her writing, and I’ve been a huge Maysa fan for years,” confides the saxophonist. “The lyric, song and performance really hit the core of my soul. I think the theme is something everyone can relate to no matter what your ‘song’ may be. To me, it’s all about staying strong inside no matter what others may think. You have to value yourself from within, not through the eyes of others.” There is a re-mix version of this song at the album’s finale that highlights a lush orchestral arrangement by Phillipe  Saisse. “Philipe is truly a gifted artist in so many ways. His orchestral arranging is just beautiful. I asked him to do a full orchestral arrangement, not just strings, but strings, brass, woodwinds, percussion, the whole thing,” explains Euge. “I remember getting his arrangement on a Friday evening. Shortly after he sent me for fun the remix version of Sing My Song with just Maysa, myself, and the orchestra. I was blown away. He did it just for fun, but I knew it had to make the album. So, I included it as assort of a bonus cut. His arrangement is another reason the song became the title track.” The  romanticism sustained and legato tension of Euge Groove’s tenor playing on "Gatito" is a memorable tribute to Argentinean saxophonist Gato Barbrieri.” He was very influential in my early years of playing,” shares Euge Groove. “He played with such  passion.” Euge shifts to cruise-control for "The Journey Ahead” and explains, “This song is all

Each of these songs are like children to me. There is so much time and focus put into each one. I hope the music touches people and they will hear this and feel this labor of love.”
